Discovering French Baroque Music: Jacques Aubert: L´aimable.                     French Baroque music sometimes discourages teachers and pupils a bit with specific means of expression and special marks in notation. We perceive port de voix, inégalité, etc. as something complex and alien. In our lessons, we try to gradually introduce these elements into the music, and J. Aubert's Les Amuzettes are great pieces that we really enjoy.

Peter Eben's Duettini is beautiful music - he wrote it for his sons when they were learning to play the recorder. For many pupils, however, it´s difficult to understand if it is not accompanied by a piano and thus cannot understand the individual pieces in their unique mood. We succeed thanks to the backing tracks and can use them to develop musical skills, sensitivity... and movement :)

Easy, lively, cheerful - this is Bourée from the Baroque Anthology. Gábi managed the movement in the alla breve time nicely, we will add trills :)

We all love playing Brian Bonsor's pieces. This arrangement of the piece Swing your Partners, originally intended for alto recorder, was created ad hoc for the ZUŠ Open concert. Gabriela and Darina were preparing to collaborate with pianist Amalia. Our topic (surprisingly): movement while playing...

Brian Bonsor's Serenata from the album Jazzy Recorder 2 is a beautiful piece - the music is poetic, even cinematic. Together with Simona, we had a lot of fun with this piece and also a bit of mood searching...

Viktor Fortin: Chanson da Mur, recorder - Bára Sedláková. A great composition that provides a number of possibilities for working with expression, dynamics... It was a beautiful work - also thanks to Bára...

Editing shortly before the holidays... 27.6. 2021, with the music of Happy Pinocchio by Viktor Fortin, performed by Anna Šťávová, 7th grade. Back then we didn't have a website, we sent each other recordings by email... it was... more complicated...

Coffee & Croissants - one of a number of great pieces by Alan Bullard. Similar to the Breton Beret, it evokes an mood associated with France, an accordion and a walk where you can meet not only something beautiful, but also something tasty. Our performance is still on the way to the final tempo, but it will definitely be faster after coffee :)

Fred 'n' Ginger is a piece where we learn to swing, bend tones glissandos... and generally create the right jazz mood. I think Zuzana quite enjoyed it - judge for yourself:

Matthias started playing the recorder in September and managed to make a recording of Bach's composition O Jesulein süss for the first time. Like a pro :)

Greenwood is a short tune from the collection of John Playford. We used it as material to practice 6/4 time and also to develop body movement to suit the melody.

Oh, Baby, Baby! - a short folk song, but for a first year pupil a lot of work and joy before performing it...

Flautino Quartet, video from the charity event, June 2021.

Chamber music is a great source of inspiration - not only for those who play it, but also for the listeners, especially in the case of Hirose's Ode. Two brothers-twins...two kinds of movement...two musical expressions...
